Honoring 39 Years of Dedicated Service
Steve Behler Retires from Kemba Credit Union
As we close the book on 2017, your credit union has experienced another very successful year. Loan and deposit goals have been achieved while the credit union continued to give back to our members with competitive products, services and interest rates. Loan outstanding grew nearly 13% while the credit union’s deposit base increased nearly 8%. The financial position of your credit union remains at a very healthy level with a capital to asset ratio well over 12%.
As your CEO, this is my final report to the membership as I will be retiring early this year. It has been a pleasure serving the Kemba Credit Union membership for more than 39 years. I was fortunate to grow up at Kemba and have witnessed the institution grow from a very small, one office company in the 1212 State Ave. processing plant to our current 12 office operation that reaches nationwide and beyond. As CEO, one of my main responsibilities was to take care of both the membership and the employment base. This is something that I took very serious as these two key components were vital to the overall success of the institution and the success of the membership and staff.
The overwhelming success could not have been possible without the loyal and dedicated members of Kemba Credit Union. Your utilization of the credit union’s products and services and your endless support of this financial institution, has elevated Kemba to one of the best credit unions in the country. I hope over the years we have helped to change the lives of our members in some small way by allowing them to achieve their individual goals and help their families experience their dreams. I hope that the credit union fulfilled a need, solved a problem or was just a place to come and get some advice from a group of individuals who really cared about the membership and their families. I hope that we made a difference in the lives of our members.
Our success over these many years comes from our dedicated staff who tirelessly worked to meet the needs of the membership while securing financial strength for the credit union. You are privileged to have such a dedicated, loyal and talented staff who come to work every day to lend a helping hand to those who are in need of the credit union difference.
I leave you in good hands as Dan Sutton, President, will take the helm of our credit union when I retire. Dan has been with Kemba for more than 18 years and has worked closely with me through these years. Dan is a proven leader and is well connected in the credit union industry. He will serve you well.
I would like to thank the membership for their support over these many years. I would like to thank our staff and our board of directors for their support of Kemba Credit Union and their support of the entire credit union movement. As I leave my second home for more than 39 years, I am proud of the accomplishments that have been achieved and excited for the endless opportunities that lie ahead for our credit union. Thanks again, Good Luck and remember, “We are here to serve You!”
