Total Loss Steps:

  • Submit Web Form
  • Ensure your insurance company is in contact with Kemba Credit Union as soon as your vehicle has been determined to be a total loss
  • If the insurance company is not paying your loan in full:
    • Contact the dealership to cancel your extended warranties if any were purchased for any prorated refund that may be due to be sent to Kemba Credit Union to be applied towards the remaining balance
      • You will need to provide the dealership with the date of loss and mileage as of the date of loss to cancel any warranties
    • If you have purchased GAP coverage you will need to contact your GAP provider to start a claim
      • Kemba Credit Union will provide you with a payoff as of the date of loss to provide to the GAP company as well as a copy of the insurance check, along with a copy of the payment history once payment has been received for you to provide to the GAP company
    • Once all required documentation has been submitted it is important for you to follow up with the insurance company, the dealership, and your GAP provider to ensure your claim is being processed and there are no issues
